CROSSROADS: Jessica Drew overhears Rogue and Kitty as they join their life forces with the Phoenix (Rachel). Jessica offers her life force as well to join the Phoenix to do her part in fighting the evil of the Beyonder.

Ororo talks the Phoenix out of destroying the universe and with the Phoenix's return, restored back the life forces she had taken. Suddenly the Beyonder appears and Jessica Drew asks who and what the devel is he? The beyonder answers Jessica Drew saying:"I am fron another space. There is was all. Yet whe a cosmic event made me aware of your space--and thereby of my own existence--I found myself asking, is that all? I sought answers, yet discovered only confusion and contradiction. I desire order, yet all about me is chaos. I require oneness and unity, yet behold only multiplicity and apartness. This is wrong."

As the Beyonder asks for his power back from the Phoenix, she give him more that his power (all that Phoenix experienced, the totality of life, all it s forms and all its infinite glory) and is overwhelmed. The Beyonder later say: "I find myself envying your humanity. In that your race is truly blessed. Don't squander it. The beyonder disappears.

Note: I don't think the Phoenix took Jessica's life force as there are no images indicating so. Phoenix later responds that the the Beyonder does not deserve the sacrifice of such soul.

But Morgan Le Fay in the Astral Plane is preventing it. Suddenly Morgan Le Fay takes over Doctor Strange's mystic field and appears before them on a wide screen TV. She tell everyone that they are not to interfere as she takes here revenge against Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman and Magnus for destroying her physical body centuries ago.

As Morgan Le Fay unleashes the substances of the astral plane to the physical world, the Avengers contain the Astral Plane substances. Doctor Strange tells the Avengers that they need to stop Morgan Le Fay in the Astral Plane. So Doctor Strange uses the same dimensional portal Morgan Le Fay used to transport the Astral Plane substances for the Avengers to get to Morgan Le Fey in the Astral Plane. The Shroud uses his control of darkeness to surprise Morgan Le Fay and in the course of battle, Morgan Le Fay transforms herself to "a body formed from the very stuff (essence) of the realm."

As Magnus collects himself from Morgan's magical blow, he tells himself there is only one course left for him now and disappears. Meanwhile, Doctor Strange forges a conscious link with Spider-Woman's mind via his third eye, the eye of Agamotto which guides SW between dimensions. But SW is too weak because the psyhic winds are too strong. Suddenly Magnus appears before SW telling her his time is at an end. He tells her about how he came to be and how he use to be a follower of Morgan Le Fay and how they became lovers. But one day Morgan Le Fay got a hold of the Darkhold, the Book of Cursed Spells and discovered that Morgan Le Fay's hatred had given way to her total villainy. Magnus stole the Darkhold and hid it in the High Tower of Wight which was protected with spells that prevented evil doers from accessing it. But as Magnus was on the run from Morgan LKe Fay, she eventually caught up with him and destroyed his mortal body when he was in astral projection. But Magnus was able to cast a spell to trasport his astral spirit to the Astral Plane. He explained he was able to return to earth by inhabiting the body of another and it was in this guise that he enclountered SW and travelled to California with her. Magnus blames himself for what had happened to SW and that she was only caught in the middle of his battle between him and Morgan Le Fay. Magnus makes the ultimate sacrifice by using the last of his magic to calm the psychic winds, break Morgan's barrier and all SW to return to her physical body . Magnus bids farewell to Jessica.

As the Avengers continue to battle, the Scarlet Witch casts her hexes to weaken the conjured body of Morgan Le Fay and at the same time the Shroud sheds his darkeness to foil the use of her magic. But as Morgan tries to escape from her conjured body to cast her magic, Doctor Strange casts his magic to send her back to her conjured body. Morgan vows vengeance against Doctor Strange as the rest escapes out of the portal.

Dr. Pym tells Jessica that the price of ordeal cost her powers as Spider-Woman. But Jessica is just happy to be alive.

THE GHOST OF JESSICA DREW: The Avenger's arrive at St. Anthony's Hospital in San Francisco, CA. Tigra informs them what had transpired. The Avengers seem to vaguely remember Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman. Tigra mentions how she and Spider-Woman along with other super-types (Gypsy Moth, Werewolf, Shroud, Daddy Longlegs and Mickey Silk) managed to escape their imprisonment by Locksmith and Ticktock and "turn the tables on them." The "super-types" then gathered to celebrate at Jessica and Lindsay's apartment. That evening David Ishida, Jessica's boyfriend, decided to stop seeing her when he discovered she was Spider-Woman. Suddenly in the course of the evening, everyone seemed to have forgotten why they were there. As the gypsy Moth and Daddy Longlegs left, the Shroud felt drawn to go to the apartment's courtyard only to find the Spider-Woman unmasked and lifeless. The others rushed to call an ambulance while Tigra and the Shroud administered CPR until the paramedics arrived. As Jessica laid in the hospital in a coma, the ghost of the Spider-Woman appeared before Mickey Silk, the Shroud and Tigra.

The Scarlet Witch calls Doctor Strange for assistance because of the supernatural nature while the Wasp calls her ex, Dr. Henry Pym (the Yellow Jacket) for additional assistance. After Dr. Pym examines Jessica, he indicates there is no reason why she hasn't recovered and gained consciousness yet. But Dr. Strange also indicates that even though there are no physical damages, her mind has fled her body altogether beyond the boundaries of reality in the Astral Plane.

In the Astral Plane, we find the Spider-Woman and Magnus the Sorcerer. Magnus tells SW what had happened, how Magnus freed SW's astral boy from her physica body to travel back in time the defeat Morgan Le Fay. But at the end, Morgan Le Fay managed to cast a spell that prevented SW's astral body from reentering her physical body. Since her physical body would eventually die, SW ask Magnus to cast a spell that the world may forget that there ever was a Spider-Woman and Jessica Drew.

Magnus confesses that there might have been a chance to break Morgan Le Fay's spell but Magnus didn't try because he wanted SW come away with him in the Astral Plane. SW uderstands why Magnus did it but tells him that she wants to return to her body and live again. Magnus indicates risk since Morgan Le Fay's spell used SW's bio-electric venom blast to prevent her from returning but he might be able to beat the barrier with a spell of his own. As Magnus cast his spell in order for SW to return to her body, Morgan Le Fay, strikes Magnus with her magic and cause SW in be trapped between both dimensions.

Meanwhile in the Astral Plane, Morgan Le Fay plans in destroying SW and claim her powerful body for herself.
